Case of Cutaneous Anæsthesia

in her thirteenth year. For the last two years she has been subjected to a variety of treatment, and even up to the day on which I saw her, fully believed herself to be a martyr to rheumatism. Early in 1867, and about a year after child-birth, she began to experience short sharp pains in the right leg, but the limb did not swell, neither was there any pyrexial disturbance, no single joint has ever been attacked by this so-called rheumatism. About six months after these symptoms first appeared, she gave birth to another child, that died shortly after from ulceration (probably syphilitic) of the mouth and arms. It was about this time that she first noticed a whitish spot, in which sensation was completely lost, about an inch above the

Stochastic Dynamics of Anæsthesia
Recent developments in the analysis of synchronization and directionality of couplings for noisy nonlinear oscillators are being applied to study the complex interactions between cardiac and respiratory oscillations, and brain waves (especially delta and gamma), during anæsthesia. It is found that marked changes occur in the inter-oscillator interactions during anæsthesia in both rats and human...
متن کاملInteractions between cardiac, respiratory, and EEG-δ oscillations in rats during anæsthesia
We hypothesised that, associated with the state of anæsthesia, there exist characteristic changes in both cardio-respiratory and cerebral oscillator parameters and couplings, perhaps varying with depth of anaesthesia. Electrocardiograms (ECGs), respiration and electroencephalograms (EEGs) were recorded from two groups of 10 rats during the entire course of anæsthesia following the administratio...
متن کاملPrimary cutaneous large B cell lymphoma, leg type: A case report and review of the literature
Primary cutaneous large B-cell lymphoma leg type is a rare andaggressive neoplasm as defined by the recently updated WorldHealth Organization - European Organization for Research andTreatment of Cancer. We report a case of an 80-year-old manwith multiple cutaneous lesions. Here, we review the availableliterature and summarize clinical features and management ofthis type of cutaneous B-cell lymp...
متن کاملCutaneous horn and Callosity of the ankle: A case report
Cutaneous horn is a horn-like keratotic lesion, which commonly occurs on the head and face, over a wide range of benign or malignant skin lesions. Callosity is a hyperkeratotic plaque produced by intermittent or continuous pressure on the skin. Lateral aspects of the ankles (Lateral malleoli) are frequently involved. We report a rare case of cutaneous horn developed on ankle callosity.
